We have ...Richard, thanks so much for the comment:

We have been pulled to the right for so long, we don't even know what "progressive" looks like anymore.

The Dems have completely adopted the war stance of the right.

As far as the future for our grand kids: I don't feel so great for the present for my own children right now.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17709941464730435476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8432484.post-69097739813399419662016-08-06T07:42:02.296-07:002016-08-06T07:42:02.296-07:00If the GOP hadn't decided to absorb the Right/...If the GOP hadn't decided to absorb the Right/Christian fringe, years ago, we would still have an operating Congress and less contentious elections. Since the GOP leadership has allowed itself to be made over in a mold defined by that radical fringe, Dems have no alternative but absorb the Centrists to better represent the spectrum it has always stood with. It almost feels like a complete end to the party system. What else could work? Well, the Parliamentary system, but that doesn't work well when real change is needed quickly. It takes decades to get anything useful done. As a result I'm also, not as confident as I was, about the world we're leaving to our grandkids.Richard Suttonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07334072047610794115noreply@blogger.com
